The request for the patent for the innovative RS350S gas pressure regulator has been granted. The innovative part of the RS350S regulator is the insert.
The innovative insert integrates valve, valve seat and roller diaphragm into one easy-to-replace module: the insert. In a conventionally designed regulator, the valve seat is part of the regulator body. Since the valve and valve seat must be connected very precisely to each other for proper operation of the controller, the valve must be positioned very precisely in the controller body. In the innovative design of the RS350S controller both valve and valve seat are part of the insert. The insert is precisely pre-assembled and can simply inserted into the regulator body for replacement. One of the major advantages of this is that the regulator can be easily overhauled. The insert also makes it very easy to change the valve size in order to adjust the KG-value. The RS350S regulator is available with 5 different valve sizes so that a KG-range from 185 to 1250 Nm3/h is covered with the DN50 version.
The insert can be returned to Wigersma & Sikkema for an overhaul. Another insert is then placed in the regulator and the insert to be reconditioned is then sent to Wigersma & Sikkema in the same packaging. Replacing an insert can be done very simply, quickly and reliably. The RS350S gas pressure regulator does not need to be out of operation for more than 15 minutes. The reconditioned insert is sent back to the customer after revision and testing. The insert is checked at the factory after overhaul, which guarantees the functionality on site. This way, the customer can be sure that he has a spare part in stock that can be used immediately. This circular concept therefore also drastically reduces the number of spare parts that need to be kept in stock.
Since mid-2019 the RS350S DN50 gas pressure regulator has been successfully delivered to customers in the Netherlands and abroad and is available in both PN10 and PN16 versions.
