As part of the Network Innovation Allowance program that SGN is running to evaluate the use of the PLEXOR inspection system in their UK network an offsite test was performed in May 2016 at the training facility of National Grid at Eakring. As part of this test special system couplings were installed in the installation and a functional inspection using PLEXOR was performed on the installation. The offsite trail was considered a success. The onsite trails which will take place in selected installations of SGN in the North and South networks are scheduled for July 2016.
